Excessive Consumption and Waste in the Name of Festivities and Culture

Festive seasons are culprits of excessive food consumption and waste

Ramdan is a festive time that is close to my culture. Ramdan is also one of the biggest food waste offenders in the world with staggering amounts of food waste going into landfills during this festive time. 

The irony is that food waste becomes bigger immorality considering the spirit of Ramdan, which is to provide the humankind with guidance to characterize the 'right from wrong'. 

It is high time we thinking about sustainable food practices during Ramdan, and incorporate these ideas into popular festive awareness and marketing taglines.
