What qualifies as sustainable food?



There is no universal consensus on what explicitly qualifies as sustainable food.
However, several common traits that are used title food as ‘sustainable’ are listed below:
·      Water and energy efficient
·      Assure the well-being of workers and communities involved
·      Treat animals in a humane nature
·      Packaging is low in its environmental impact
·      Protect the biodiversity and conserve the ecosystem services
·      Locally sourced
·      Little to no waste generated
·      Healthy and high in quality
